JavaScript Job: Junior Back-End Engineer (Remote Available)

As Junior Back-End Engineer, you join a team of talented developers working together to transform final mile logistics and supply chain operations. Your role will be to learn and implement best practices, design patterns, and effective software testing within the software development life cycle (SDLC). The architecture you will work within involves the interchange of data between cloud infrastructure and the user interface as well as interacting with data stores and exchanging information between microservices.

Responsibilties

• Work as part of a team developing applications and services using Agile development methods
• Learn and implement best practices as well as software development standards
• Build aspects of back-end services for processing, administration, and management
• Build tooling for automating things
• Code, test and operate node.js based services
• Learn skills and tools to identify and fix defects before they become a problem

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or coding bootcamp with a focus on back-end development
• Some previous experience in Typescript
• Familiarity with the whole web stack, including protocols and web server optimization techniques is preferred
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving aptitude
• Attention to detail
• Some profiling and debugging skills
• Some experience interacting with and utilizing MySQL datastores in an efficient manner
• Some experience with distributed systems including message queue processing a plus
• Some experience with NoSQL and document-based databases a plus
